THE meeting of the National Working Groups (NWGs), coordinated by the Tanzania Artists Rights Organization (TARO), successfully concluded its oversight of the research on public investment in the cultural sector.
During the meeting, the research expert, Ayeta Wangusa, presented the findings of the study, which comprehensively analyzed the distribution of government expenditure in the cultural sector from 2021 to 2024.
The research is anticipated to provide critical insights and evidence-based arguments to support advocacy efforts aimed at increasing investment in the cultural sector.
The NWGs operate under the framework of the Connect for Culture Africa (CfCA) project, which is implemented by Selam in partnership with the African Union (AU). This initiative is generously supported by the Swedish government, reflecting a collaborative effort to strengthen cultural development and advocacy across the continent.
